Hi there and Happy October! Jacquie here today with a Fall Floral card. Floral cards are my favorite and I make a lot of them. A floral card is always appropriate and you just need to change up the colors to be a bit more seasonal.
This card was made using the faux watercolor technique. I love this because it always gets a "wow" reaction from the recipient of one of these cards. It's relatively easy to do too!
I selected the stamp set from The Stamp Market called Watercolor Bouquet. This set features a lovely assortment of solid florals...perfect for this type of card.
Let's get started! First I stamped the different floral and leaf images in a random pattern on a piece of watercolor paper. I used Distress ink. (TIP: If you are having issues with the ink beading up on your stamp, use an eraser on your stamps to rough them up a bit. The ink will stick better.) After I stamped each flower and leaf, I used a water brush to make the stamped flowers and leaves more loose and organic looking. After I stamped all the flowers and wet them, I dried with a heat tool. I then added some details with more ink to give the piece a more vibrant look. I also lightly brushed some of the ink off each flower and created a background with these colors. I used the heat tool again to dry the piece.
After everything was good and dry, I used Versafine Black Onyx ink to stamp the greeting. I liked the card with just the stamped greeting, but I felt it needed a little more. I selected the "Thanks" die from the WPLUS9 Basic Greetings die set, and cut it twice in black cardstock. I glued the two die cut pieces together and put it on the card. I finished it off with my favorite embellishment, a few clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
That's it for today, I hope you like it!
Peace,
Jacquie
I love the "loose" watercolor look. Very pretty!!!
