I'm glad to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today with this super fun card that was really easy to pull together.
I've probably talked about this before, but I am often amazed (not in a good way) at how bad I am about sending out cards. As a card maker....this doesn't really make sense. But because I end up selling a lot of what I make, sometimes I just forget to create in bulk so that I can have some on hand in my own stash to send to friends and loved ones.
One of my biggest fans is my husband. And let's be honest: He is my person. Sometimes I still can't believe how blessed I am to have him in my life. And so I dedicate today's card to him--a guy who never seems to mind receiving rainbow cards from me!
I pulled out my distress oxide inks for today's card and tried a little bit of a different technique. Instead of blending the inks on to my cardstock, I applied the inks directly on to an acrylic block, sprayed them with water, and then applied the inked blocks directly to my paper. After I had gotten my stripes of color to a vibrancy level that I was happy with, I used my water sprayer and my heat gun simultaneously to add some more layers of water and oxidation. I trimmed down my oxide panel a bit and then glued it on to my standard A2 card base.
Next, I went to set up the sentiment panel. I used a stamp set from My Favorite Things that is no longer available, but the beauty of this card layout design is that you can use any sentiment that you like! I recommend the All Occasion Sentiments set from My Favorite Things because of the bold script style. I stamped some hearts with the matching distress oxide inks and then cut them out before finally adding a layer of Glossy Accents to the top for some dimension and shine. I glued them to my sentiment panel and then cut out the sentiment panel using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies from My Favorite Things. I then added a panel of craft foam under the panel before adhering it to my card base.

Very bright and cool - really like it! And I'm the same, terrible about sending out cards. I made a vow to get better recently - sent two today! Yey! Go Us! :) Jenny x
