Hello and happy Sunday!! I'm super excited to be on the BRI blog today! As you can tell by the title of this post, my card is centred around coffee. Iced coffee, to-go coffee or sit at home with a mug of coffee.
This card is about 95% die cutting, which I LOVE, but it did take some time and is not really mass produceable. But if you want to send an extra special card to someone, this would be it!
I started by going through my scraps drawer and choosing some nice pastel colours. This type of card is also very good for using up those little scraps we tend to hoard, or I least I do. I used the Coffee Break Honey Cuts Dies from Honey Bee Stamps for all the main images. This set has not got enough attention in my opinion. It's amazing!! There is a co-ordinating stamp set, but this die set can stand on its own. This is a LARGE die set with A LOT of pieces.
Anyway, enough swooning over the products! Let's have a look at my card!

As you can see, this die set comes with large solid dies (which work well with the stamp set), but also pieces that can be cut and layered on top of the solid pieces to create all kinds of cups!! And donuts, too!! I used pink, blue, mint and grey as much colour palette. I jazzed each cup up in its own way by adding small details, like the straw, the leaves on the mug and the small pink coffee bean on the iced coffee! SO MUCH FUN!!!
I used the "coffee" stamp from the Blah Blah Blah Stamp Set and stamped it repeatedly onto a light grey card base with a light grey ink. It gave a subtle effect without taking away from those cups.
After fiddling around with the layout, I decided to use the largest of the Scalloped Dies from Neat and Tangled to frame my die cut cups. I used a rectangle die to cut the inside of the panel out to create the frame. I foam mounted all my images to the centre of the card base and used a Glitter Pen to add some sparkle and Glossy Accents to add some shine!!
I stamped a large sentiment on the inside of the card, which also come from the Blah, Blah, Blah stamp set.
I should have used my MISTI as my ink pad was apparently very dry. Oh well!
I hope you enjoyed my card for today! I had so much fun making it!
Thanks for stopping in today! Wishing you the most relaxing day!!
Until next time....
Laurie
