Hello!
It's Ali here from alilovescardmaking (Youtube/Instagam), joining you for my first Butterfly Relections Ink post! So excited to be here along side some super talented crafters and to share some of my cards with you! Hope you enjoy them and find some inspiration here and there :-).
Christmas and New Year went by with a flash didn't they? Time to start thinking about making cards for the next calendar event - Valentines Day! I thought I'd try and come up with a card for the special man in my life - don't know about you but I find 'masculine' cards the most difficult!! But this set from Altenew, To The Moon, is the solution!
With the revival of the look of Alcohol Inks in mind, I pulled out some Copics (B29, B24) and Rubbing Alcohol and created this quick background on glossy photo paper. Once dry, I darkened the outer edges with Distress Oxide Black Soot. I then splattered some white gesso over the background piece with a water brush and set aside to dry.
I stamped one of the moon images from To The Moon (Altenew) on watercolour paper in hickory smoke distress ink. I dabbed on some Antique Linen distress ink with a water brush in some areas to add some more variation in colour and then cut out the moon.
I cut a thin strip of Blue cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and white embossed it. I trimmed the background piece to fit on the front of a white card-base and adhered the moon and sentiment strip. Love this set so much - simple and versatile!
Thanks for joining me for my first card and hope to see you again here with Butterfly Reflections Ink!
