Perfect Peacock Pair

Hello crafters! Ali here from alilovescardmaking (instagram/youtube) with two cards in one of my favorite colour combinations: purple and green (well, turquoise really). I always think of Peacocks when these colours that the same for anyone else? I have used the fabulous Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Die to create a stencil and produced these pair of bright and striking cards.
I used some heavy weight card to create the stencil - this is because it does become quite saturated with ink if you are making a few cards at the same time, and the 'gaps' between the leaves can get delicate and tear if your paper is thin (trust me I know this from experience!!) you will need to cut and 'turn' the die 4 times - I just turned my paper 90 degrees after each cut and then used my eye to line the die up again (hint: turn the paper over and check from the back that your cut lines are not ;overlapping' with your last cut - I learned this from experience too!!)
I then used Distress Oxide Inks Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet to sponge on the ink with the purple concentrated towards the centre of the 'flower'. I did two versions of this on white cardstock. I flicked the single 'flower' with some water droplets using the stencil to protect the surrounding card.
I flicked both background pieces (using scrap paper circles to cover the flowers) with black paint splatters using a waterbrush. Once dry, I stamped both with the sentiments from the Dahlia Turnabout Stamp Set in Versafine Black Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
I stamped the smaller sentiments from the Dahlia turnabout Stamp Set on strips of white card and adhered them with mounting foam. I then backed one piece with purple card and one with turquoise card. Then both pieces were attached to white base cards

Simple but striking - and the colour options of course are untlimited.  This is a great die to have and so versatile! And the stamp set is just gorgeous too!
Thanks for joining me again and have a superb day!!
Ali xx
