Alix here introducing my card for this week's Team Project using Lawn Fawn Beam me up stamp set. To continue talking about scene building from last week, I searched on google by using key word "alien scene cartoon" , and tons of reference photos popped up for me to gather some ideas. I want to build a scene with all aliens living in their happy planet and the whole universe is their sky. So I started to put pieces together.
First of all, I colored all images from Lawn Fawn Beam me up stamp set using Copic markers and set aside. I grabbed a piece of Tim Holtz Distress watercolor paper to start create universe background. I ink blended using Tim Holtz distress ink in Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Chipped Sapphire and Tim holtz distress oxide ink in Black soot. Then I splattered some white acrylic paint by flicking a paint brush bristle.
Now let's create the planet. The surface of planet should not be flat. So I cut some hills using Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain borders die. I ink blended the hills with Tim holtz distress oxide ink in Gathered Twigs and Black soot to make it look like its covered with soils.I also cut some individual hills and randomly placed on the card with foam tapes attached to create some 3D dimensions.
We get to my favorite part now- Assembling! I adhered colored images either using Multi Medium Matte or foam tape onto the card front.I used copic marker to draw a little shadow underneath each alien so they don't look like they are floating (and of course they could if they want to.) I used Uniball white gel pen to decorate aliens, draw beam for flying saucer and create some stars.
I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment that comes with this stamp set using VersaMark and embossed with WOW Opaque bright white embossing powder. At last, I glued some Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent mini star confetti for my twinkle twinkle little stars.
