Hello Crafty Friends!
I was joining in the Altenew blog hop this week and was inspired by Laura Jane (mamacooksalot) with her colouring of flower images - I decided to take my polychromos to my Wings of Hope stamp set and do some no-line colouring. It does help you look at solid stamps in a different way - you could do your own shading for any solid stamp - increasing it's versatility.
I have used this set a lot lately - love the sentiments and the images now have taken on a new perspecive! I began the card by stamping out the flower images and leaves with light coloured ink (I used a light pink and light green altenew ink). I then used my polychromos to colour the flowers - just using my imagination to distinguish the flower petals and leaf shapes. I used colour that will enable me to enter my card in the Aletnew Inspiration Challenge for April. I used a flicking stroke of the pencils and started in the centre of the flower, moving out.
I fussy cut the flowers (really wish I had the dies for this set now!!). On a white card base, I stamped out some of the other images in the set (2nd generation stamping so it was just light in colour). I stamped the Hope sentiment from the set with versafine ink onto the front of the card.
I adhered the flowers and leaves around the sentiment and that completed the card! Actually quite a simple card but with lots of colouring detail! Hope this inspires you to try solid stamps if you don't have any and to use them in different ways!
Until next time,
Ali xx
