Hello crafty friends!
It's World Autism Awareness Day today and many in the crafting community are joining together for blog hops to raise awareness and understanding of Autism and the challenges faced by people (and families) living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In addition to this, I wanted to really celebrate those with Autism and the uniqueness they bring to this world.
To make this card, I started by sponging a piece of Distress Watercolour Cardstock with Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks. I splattered this with water when done, dabbing the water off with a paper towel. I stamped out the bear and umbrella from the Beary Big Heart Stamp set from Heffy Doodle Stamps and coloured with copics. I added extra lines to the umbrella with a Copic Multiliner to enable me to colour the umbrella in rainbow colours. I die cut them with the corresponding dies.
I Coloured the images with Copics and added detail to the bear with a white gel pen. I used a 'You' die cut from black card and stamped the sentiment from All About You stamp set from My Favorite Things in Versafine ink. I trimmed and backed the sentiment strip with black card.
I used a white card base with a black rectangle of card to sit behind the watercolour panel. I added the bear with some 3D foam, the umbrella and adhered the You die cut & sentiment. I finished off by using ranger glossy accents on the umbrella and You die-cut.
Thanks for visiting and helping us celebrate World Autism Day 2018!
