Well, hello friends! Kari with you today, and I am happy to be back for today on the BRI blog! Today I wanted to share with all of you a fun card, and give an idea on how to continue your card scene from the outside to the inside.
For today's card, I am using some adorable images from a new stamp company, Hello BlueBird. Vanessa's shop is currently the only place that you can purchase these stamps other than the Hello Bluebird website. That is very exciting for her shop! This set that I have used today is called Pig Day I have also used a few other images from the Springtime set as well.
I started out my card by first die cutting a piece of smooth white card stock with a wonky stitched square die from MFT. I used two different stencils to start out my scene. The Drifts and Hills Stencil and the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil both from MFT. I used Distress inks in Mowed Lawn for the grass or hill, and the Tumbled Glass for the clouds/sky. Once I was happy with how that turned out, I stamped out all my images that was going to use on my card, and colored them in with Copic Markers.
Once I was completely done with the coloring, I used the coordinating dies for the images, and put them through my Big Shot machine to get some nice cut out images. I created my 5x5 square card base from Kraft card stock, and also die cut a piece of the Really Rainbow pattern paper with a stitched square die to create a nice mat for my main panel.
I started adhering my images to my scene, some with liquid adhesive, and some with foam adhesive for added dimension. I also stamped out my sentiment for the outside that reads " This little piggy says..." with some black ink. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I wanted to extend my scene to the inside of the card, so I die cut a smaller white wonky stitched panel, and used the same stencils to create another hill and clouds, and then I stamped out my other sentiment that reads " You Made My Day". I adhered the rest of my images to the inside, and I added some final touches to my images with a white gel pen. I love how the piggy is excited to receive a card in the mail from his favorite pal! I know that is how I feel when I receive a "handmade hug" from one of my crafty friends!
Thank you for taking some time out of your day to join me today! It is always a pleasure to design for Vanessa when I can! Hope to see you all very soon once again! Take Care!
Kari
