I'm baaaack!! Hey, crafty peeps!! It's Laurie and as always, so excited to be a guest on the BRI Blog today!! I have not one, but two cards using stamps and dies from Hello Bluebird as well as Altenew!!
Hello Bluebird is a new and utterly adorable stamp company that has some of the cutest animal images out there. It has quickly become one of my favourite companies. And just so you know, all the Hello Bluebird products have been restocked and are available!!
For my first card, I'll show you the process as there was a couple of idea changes along the way! I started by stamping and colouring the trio of tiny birds in the McGregor's Garden stamp set. Then used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out. I decided on creating a custom sentiment using the Bold Alphabet Dies from Altenew. This is one of my all-time favourite alpha die sets..its sooo...well, bold!!

To easily add colour to the letters, I used Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks. I was actually going to adhere everything to a white card base and call it done but was having a bit of trouble embracing the white space!
I decided to mask around the edges, this is 1 inch painters tape, and add a subtle cloudy background with the Stencil Cloud from My Favourite Things. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink which was just a bit too subtle.
I remasked and used Broken China Distress Ink instead. With much better results!
I placed all my images with foam tape onto the card front and stamped the sentiment which is also from the McGregor's Garden set. But for some reason, I still thought there was too much white!!!
I ended up cutting a frame using the Stitched Rectangle Frame Dies from Lawn Fawn out of white cardstock and used the same inks I used on the letters. I thought this was a lot more fun.
To add a bit of sparkle, I used Crystal Stickles on the bottom edge of each letter and some Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
Now, if you're still here, thank you! I won't bore you with all the details on my second card! I was "in the zone" and while I had everything out, thought I'd make another :)
This time I used one of the birds, the party hat and the balloon from the Silly Birds Stamp Set and used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out. I also die cut many of the leaves and flowers from the Tropical Foliage Dies out of white cardstock. I used a variety of Distress Inks to give them colour!
The oval shape is from the Create-a-Wreath Die Set from Altenew and I thought it worked perfectly here.
Obviously, I didn't think ahead and had no room for the sentiment, so I stamped that inside.
I had so much fun making these cards! Just the colours and the cuteness would brighten someone's day!!
Thank you for sticking with me through this very long post! I hope you are able to check out these adorable stamps and dies!!
Until next time...stay crafty!!
