Hello and Welcome!
We're celebrating Father's Day here in the U.S. today, and so I was excited to create a card that reminded me of my own wonderful Dad!
The Butterfly Reflections, Ink store has the newest Heffy Doodle release in stock and if you haven't checked it out yet--what are you waiting for?! SO many cute things in that release!
I used the Oceans of Love stamp and die set for this card in addition to some Catherine Pooler reinkers (in Juniper Mist and Aquatini) to create the scene. I also used a stitched die from My Favorite Things to create the white window frame.
I started out by applying a wash of water on to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel. While the panel was still wet, I dropped in some of the reinkers and let the water spread the ink around, creating the underwater look.
After the panel was dry, I created the window frame and then glued it on top of the watercolored panel. I then used some foam tape on to some of the images and placed them around the panel, creating the actual underwater scene. I also filled in some of the gaps with the bubble stamp included in the set!
I then stamped the sentiment to finish off the panel and glued the entire thing on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.
I completed the card by using an old Happy Father's Day wooden stamp from Hero Arts to stamp the greeting on the inside of the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and enjoy your Sunday!
