Happy Wednesday! It's Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog. Hello Bluebird has a new Fall/Halloween themed release coming out today, so I'm celebrating with sharing a card using products from their previous release. For this card, I have used their Otter Friends Stamp and Die Set and Gallery Frame Die #2.
I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and ink blended it with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink, Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink. I then sprayed it with water to make the ink blended piece look more "oceany".
Once it was dry, I used the Gallery Frame Die #2 to die cut the background. I wanted to add more die cuts to allow for the otters and greenery to sit inside the waves, so I cut the top and bottom pieces from the inside of the frame using Mama Elephant Ocean Waves Trio Dies. Below is a closer picture to show the wave details.
Now that my background was all set, I got to stamping and die cutting the images from the Otter Friends Stamp Set using my MISTI and Gina K Designs Amalgam Jet Black Ink since I was planning on using Copic Markers to color the images. Below is the image showing which colors I used for the lighter otters.
Below here, is the image showing the colors I used for the darker otters.
After coloring and cutting out all the images, I started adhering everything down to my card base. For every other wave piece, I adhered using Foam Tape for some added dimension and so I could slip the otters and cattails into the waves.
The sentiment was heat embossed on black cardstock. I prepped the paper with a powder tool and heat embossed the sentiment using my Precision Heat Tool and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder.
And that's my card today! I hope you have fun shopping the new Hello Bluebird release, I know I will!
Aloha,
Lindsay
