Christmas Cards with Neat & Tangled's Nativity Play and Angel Wings

Hello and happy Friday!  It's Andrea with you today, and, boy, has it been awhile since I've been here!  I'm thrilled to be guest designing today: I was so excited, in fact, that I created two cards to share with you!  So, grab a cuppa, sit back, and enjoy!

I just adore Neat & Tangled's Nativity Play and Angel Wings sets!  They remind me of the Christmas pageants I was in growing up.  Did you know that there was a pig at Jesus's birth?  Yep, there sure was because I portrayed one - complete with a solo (no, not a chorus of oinks, thank you very much)!

I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics, and trimmed them out.

I think Neat & Tangled's Radiating Star Stencil is perfect for these sets and knew I had to use it on one of my cards.  For this card, I masked off the ground with post-it tape, placed the stencil over my paper, and ink-blended with Fossilized Amber distress ink.  I removed the stencil, masked above the ground, and blended with Walnut Stain distress ink.  I covered the stenciled portion and flicked some water droplets over the brown to soften it a bit.  I added some watered-down gold paint splatters to the stenciled portion.

Once the background was dry, I stamped a sentiment from Nativity Play with Versamark and gold heat-embossed it.  I adhered the panel to a white card and attached my images with foam tape, applying two layers to the manger.  I added highlights to the images with a white gel pen and finished with some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins in 4 mm and 6 mm.

For my second card, I knew I wanted a dramatic background that highlighted that cute angel.  I die-cut a circle from masking paper and placed it where I wanted the angel to be.  Again, I masked off the ground with post-it tape.  Starting at the circle, I blended on Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot distress inks.  I heat-set that before laying down MFT Stamps' Radiating Rays Stencil and smoothing on white pigment ink.  I removed the stencil and circle mask and flicked on some water and shimmer spritz.  After removing the post-it tape, I ink-blended with Ground Espresso distress ink.

I heat-set the ink once again and then white heat-embossed a sentiment from Angel Wings.  After attaching the panel to a white card, I adhered my images with foam tape.  Again, I added some white highlights and a few clear sequins.
