Good morning, everyone! Amy Copeland back with a guest design post here on the blog for Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I really love Hello Bluebird stamps and their holiday/winter release is sooo adorable. I was on a crafty retreat a couple weekends ago and created this card while I was there. I started with my background, blending Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks onto smooth, white cardstock with my Mini Ink Blending Tool.
I cut the panel out with an A2-sized (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") Stitched Rectangle Stackable die from Lawn Fawn (it looks like it's out of stock in the store, but you can click on the Waiting List , or here's a Cross-Stitched set in stock). I used the same rectangle to cut out a piece of glittery, sparkly, GORGEOUS Pixie Dust card stock from Lawn Fawn, then used one of the new Hills & Dale dies from Hello Bluebird to round the top portion of the "snow" panel. It looks like that set is currently out of stock, so you can put yourself on the wait list, or HERE is another option that would even give you stitching detail on the rounded portion of the hill.
After completion of the background and snow pieces, I got to work on the adorable reindeer images from the Snow Play stamp set from Hello Bluebird. I stamped the reindeer and accessories (hat, string of lights) onto smooth white cardstock with Copic-friendly ink, colored them in with my Copic markers, and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. I always like to add special details wherever possible, so after my images were colored, I added detail with the Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen, Glossy Accents, a Glaze Pen, and a Snow Marker.
For the sentiment, I colored a piece of cardstock with my Copic Markers in an ombré fashion (R35, R37, R39), then used the falala die in This set to cut it out. I used my MISTI to stamp the words " 'tis the season" several times with Versafine black ink (the glitter didn't really want to fully accept the ink, so the MISTI was pretty handy for the capability to stamp it more than once in the exact same position). I then sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.
Finally, I adhered everything to my card panel using Liquid Glue. I love the way this cute, clean-and-simple card turned out. The pictures don't really do it justice--it's soooo sparkly in real life! Thank you so much for joining me today and make sure you check out the store--there is always something new and wonderful! :)
