Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a Wonderful week! It is Dana here today sharing a two cards using the Gorgeous Concord & 9th: Just Love Stamp Set.
I started my card's by creating my backgrounds. I used Nuvo Shimmer Powder...if you do not own any of this powder stop what you are doing and head to the store to place your order!! It is so fun and creates the most gorgeous background!!
To begin, I used the Tim Holtz: Distress Watercolor Paper. I used washi tape and attached the paper to an old cutting plate so it wouldn't warp as I added water. First, you want to wet your paper a lot. Then, you can slowly add your powder, a little at a time. I found it was easiest to control, by gently tapping the bottle and just letting a little come out at a time. Keep adding water, and tilting your paper to let the colors run together and cover your background. I also used a paper towel to dab up my extra water that accumulated around my edges.
On my turquoise background, I used Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Atlantis Burst. On my purple/pink background, I used both Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Cherry Bomb and Nuvo Shimmer Powder is Violet Brocade. It is hard to photograph, but trust me...there is a lot of shimmer and it just might be my favorite background ever!!
For my image, I used the Concord & 9th Just Love Stamp Set. This is a large stamp so I used my Original MISTI Tool to do all of my stamping and to get a good clean image.
The stamp fills a card front- I love it!! I started with the outline stamp and then there are two large flower stamps and two large leaf stamps that you add to fill in your image. The stamps have a sort of watercolor look to them and they are very easy to line up.
I followed the same stamping format for my pink and purple card.
Once my stamping was complete, I used the Concord & 9th Just Love Dies to cut out my floral image. Next, I used the Love die (also included in the set) to die cut the word Love from some glitter paper.
I hope you enjoyed my cards today and consider giving Shimmer Powders a try...you won't be disappointed!!
Enjoy your weekend!!
Dana
