Happy Thursday crafty friends, Ashley D. here! I know you're all counting down until National Pizza Day! *wink,
wink* Yup, it’s this Saturday, February
9th, and it seemed like the perfect occasion to create a simple
pizza-themed card, that could also conveniently double as a Valentine too. And a gift card to your favorite pizza spot tucked inside sounds perfect!
If you’re a foodie like me, you probably
love food stamps too, and Lawn Fawn’s Pizza My Heart set is one of my favorites. Lots of simple, versatile images. To begin this card, I first stamped the round
pizza, two slices, the box, and cutter with my go-to Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I then focused on the pizzas and stamped the
individual toppings that would be colored, in this case the pepperoni,
and what I’m calling onions. I then
colored the pizza and slices with Copic markers - cheese (Y15, Y35, YR15, YR23,
YR28); sauce (R05); crust (E50, E53, E35), and pepperoni (E08, E59). I then stamped the toppings that would be ink-only
- the olives, again in Memento Tuxedo Black, and the green peppers in Distress Oxide Moved Lawn.
I finished coloring the
pizza box (E40, E41, E43, YG13, YG17, YG67) and cutter (C0, C1, C3, E35, E37, E59),
and die cut all the images with the coordinating dies. I stamped the included sentiment with clear
embossing ink onto a scrap piece of Bazzill Wax Lips red cardstock and heat
embossed with white embossing powder to give it contrast. I cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner dies, snipping off the ends to make it rectangular.
I adhered the sentiment banner and die-cut images
to a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock ink blended with Distress Oxide, and die cut with Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables (3.75”x5”). Honestly, it was a scrap piece from
some two-color blending I was experimenting with awhile back. I don’t remember the colors, but I believe it
was Squeezed Lemonade mixed with a hint of Worn Lipstick, but Scattered Straw
might give a similar hue.
I adhered it to
a piece of green cardstock (with a 1/16” border), and then onto a white A2 card base. For a finishing touch, I added dots of NuvoCrystal Drops in Gloss White. Now I’m
hungry, Happy National Pizza Day everyone!
FYI – If you’re a pizza fan, many national and local pizza chains are
offering deals and specials on the big day! Yum!
This card is adorable!! Love the colors and all the detail! Now I want pizza!! lol!!
