Happy Tuesday everyone! Danielle here up on the BRI blog with a super fun and easy card featuring Concord & 9th Banners & Bloom and Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banners die using resin. This was so much fun and so easy!
I started off with die cutting a piece of pink shimmer cardstock and Lawn Fawn Sparkle Pixie Dust card stock (which is my fave glitter cardstock) using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die. I adhered both panels to my card base using Mono permanent tape adhesive. For my main panel I used a piece of Alcohol ink Yupo white paper and just loosely colored diagonally with various copic markers. I wanted to try something a little different so I mixed some resin together and added some Lawn Fawn chunky glitter and glitter flakes to my resin mixture (when the resin has completely dried it will give the effect of the glitter "floating"). What I like about resin is that it creates a "glass" effect. It's thicker than glaze and becomes hard and super shiny. I then poured the mixture over my yupo panel. Make sure your piece is level and to elevate your piece so the excess can drip off. This resin is easy because it's self-leveling. Once poured I set aside to dry (as it takes 24 hours for the resin to completely harden)
While that was drying I decided to work on my sentiment and banner that I will add on top of the resin panel. I ran the same pink shimmer cardstock through my die cutting machine using Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banners. This die is so versatile because you can build on to how many banners you would like. Here I used two banners put together. I also used mirrored cardstock and added underneath my banner for dimension. I then used the sentiment from Concord&9 Banners and Blooms and stamped my sentiment using Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed using Lawn Fawn white embossing powder.
I added some Pretty Pink Posh Pearl White jewels for accents at the top and bottom tails of my banner. Once my resin was dried I adhered my banner using foam adhesive tape. I then adhered my entire resin panel onto my card using foam adhesive tape. I truly loved making this bright fun card and I hope it inspires you try other mediums while card making.
Thanks for stopping by see you next Tuesday and don't forget to stop by the shop and pick up these awesome goodies!!
