Hi crafty peeps, Heather here to share a Graduation themed card that I’ve made for my oldest baby - who will be graduating High School next week!! She’ll be heading off to college in the fall and I am just so unbelievably proud of her and all of her accomplishments! I wanted to create a Graduation card to fit to her personality - which is mermaid all the way!
One of the things I love so much about cardmaking / stamping is personalizing the stamped images to match the recipient or event that I am stamping for! I really love that Lawn Fawn has so many products that present that opportunity and, of course, Vanessa always has the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop loaded up with TONS of Lawn Fawn goodies for us!!!
To create this card I stamped and Copic colored a variety of underwater images from a couple Lawn Fawn Stamp sets: Mermaid for You, You are Sublime, the new Keep on Swimming, and So Jelly. I also stamped/die cut the graduation cap & diploma from Mama Elephant’s Page Huggers Stamp Set and personalized it to my kiddo’s school colors ;). Then I die cut the Lawn Fawn Bayou Backdrop out of Bristol paper and inked it up with Twisted Citron, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxides - I did the same to a 5.5 by 4.25 panel of Bristol for the background. Next I die cut a Lawn Fawn Outside in Stitched Heart Die from the background, adhered the heart to my card base, and made the panel into a shaker window using acetate and some sequins.
Finally I assembled the front panel to my card base and popped it up with some foam tape so that my shaker bits would move around freely. I finished the card by adding a Lawn Fawn Big Scripty Words “CONGRATS” sentiment that I’d inked up to match the background of the card panel!
Thanks for peeking at my card! Do you guys like personalizing your cards to match the recipient?? If you haven’t, give it a try - you’ll love it (and so will they)!!
Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer. I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks . I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies for the girl and Magical Dragons for th
