Hi guys! Amy Copeland here with an impromptu guest design spot here on the blog. I just finished a CASE of my first DT card for Vanessa (created about a year ago), using some different products, and I'm so excited to share it with you. I had some playtime a few weeks ago with some Yupo Paper and Ranger Alcohol Inks. A few days later, I cut out some of the wings with two new Lawn Fawn die sets that are absolutely AMAZING--the Pop-Up Butterfly die set and the Layered Butterflies die set. The big purple/pink butterfly was cut with the Pop-Up Butterfly and the smaller ones as well as the body for the large purple/pink butterfly were cut with the Layered Butterflies set. I used Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud cardstock for the bodies and antennae.
The background was created with a Stitched Rectangle die--I cut it out of white cardstock, then used an Ink Blending Tool to lightly blend Mermaid ink by Lawn Fawn onto the background.
I used Harold's ABCs stamp set by Lawn Fawn to stamp out my custom sentiment with Storm Cloud ink--I don't see that stamp set in the store, it's older, but you can use any small alphabet stamp set, like This One, to stamp any custom sentiment on your cards. You can even use Alphabet Stickers--think outside the box! :) I adhered my butterflies with liquid glue.
I kept this card really clean-and-simple, to let the butterflies shine. I finished the bodies and antennae of the butterflies with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay sparkle pen and a few Clear Jewels.
Thanks for joining me today--I hope this card inspires you to create your own card with a custom sentiment and to look at your stamps and dies in a different way. :)
