Mason Jar Shaped Card Set!

Hello crafty friends! Heather back again to share a fun card set that I created using a variety of goodies that are available in the shop! First of all, I have to tell you that I have been crushing so hard on the Honey Bee Mason Jar Die! I love the look of shaped cards but I rarely actually make them. The Mason Jar Die cuts out the entire card base with a score line at the top to fold it into the perfectly shaped Mason Jar card. For each of my cards I used some Neenah 110lb (she’s thic y’all!) so that they’d be super sturdy, however, any thicker cardstock would work great too! Now, I think it is important to let you know that while I DO have a Big Shot machine, I use the small plates. You DO NOT need a Big Shot with the long plates or any giant big daddy die cutting machine to make this die work for you. When diecutting you can tape your die to the cardstock and run it through half way - cut one side, flip your cardstock around and cut the other side - works perfectly!!

I actually got the idea for these cards when I received the Lawn Fawn Keep on Swimming Stamp and die set! I love the kitty in this stamp set and it reminded me of the critters in Lawn Fawn’s Upon a Star set.

For this first card I used patterned paper from the Coco Vanilla Studio 6X8 Midnight paper pad (Oh my gosh, you guys, the patterns in the paper pad are AMAZING!!!) and stamped a night sky of constellations for my kitty to gaze up at (they are also found in the Lawn Fawn Upon a Star stamp set). I also cut a little grassy spot for my kitty using a Waffle Flower Scenery die. Finally, I stamped/die cut a banner from Avery Elle's Banner Bits stamp/die set and stamped a fun Lawn Fawn sentiment from the Party Animal stamp set. Finished this card off with a shiny silver lid for the jar - which is also found in the Mason Jar Die Set.

For the next card, I went with a golden theme. The cute lil bunny is found in the Lawn Fawn Upon a Star stamp set. This ombre blue patterned paper is also from the Coco Vanilla Studio 6X8 Midnight paper pad and I’ve splattered a bit of gold watercolor onto it to look like stars! I finished this card off with a gold lid and Mama Elephant “Hello Friend” Script sentiment.

The last card features a fox from the Lawn Fawn Upon a Star stamp set along with another piece of the beautiful patterned paper from the Coco Vanilla Studio 6X8 Midnight paper pad.

This time I splattered a bit of silver watercolor along with some dark black India Ink. I cut a grassy border using Lawn Fawn’s Meadow Border die set and added a sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s No Words stamp set. Finished the card off with a bit of twine.

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer. I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks . Hello, hello! Norine here from The Velvet Lemon blog . It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink! Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards. What do I mean, you wonder? Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color. For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks. You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color. First up, are these two cards created with the Mega Succulent stamp set . I stamped the image onto water color paper using the MISTI , then turned on the music and sat and colored. I used Faber Castell watercolor pencils so I could more easily control where the color would sit and then painted with a water brush .
