Hello everyone! It's Ashley Ebben with my first ever Design Team post! I'm so happy to meet you! I am thrilled to be joining the design team at Butterfly Reflections, Ink with such talented ladies! And of course, I'm super excited to share my cards with you all on Fridays!
Mother's Day is this weekend in the US, so I thought I would share a cute card for anyone who needs a bit of last minute inspiration before Sunday. I decided to use Lawn Fawn products to create a special card for my mom.
I originally got the idea for this card from the Lawn Fawn Love You S'More set as well as from a game my mom and I used to play when I was little. We would always argue back and forth, "I love you more!" "No, I love you more!"
I started by blending some Lawn Fawn Mermaid Ink in the middle of a piece of white cardstock and splattered a bit of gold watercolor across it. I cut a 3/8" strip from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock for the sentiment. I love this color so much! I knew I wanted to use the Lawn Fawn Scripty Mom die, so I wanted to recreate the "I love you s'more" sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Love You S'More set with a simpler font. I took the "I love you" from Lawn Fawn Let's Toast and the "S'More" from Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends. I then used my MISTI to stamp them in the center of the sentiment strip with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Zing Gold Metallic powder.
I adhered then sentiment strip to the white ink blended panel and die cut the whole piece with the largest rectangle in the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables so the stitching would be on the edge of the sentiment strip as well. I just love stitched dies! They find their way onto the majority of my cards.
I centered the stitched die cut onto a piece of plaid paper cut to card size, then used the Lawn Fawn Scripty Mom die on the same paper to get a plaid die cut. I wanted the "Mom" to have some dimension so I cut it out three more times from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock. I adhered the three die cuts together then glued the plaid die cut on top slightly offset to show the Mermaid cardstock underneath and put it on the card.
I stamped the s'more from Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends twice in Memento black ink, added some cute smiley faces, and colored with Copics before cutting with Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends dies. I stamped and cut the arms/legs so I could arrange the s'mores on the card holding hands for extra sweetness!
For a few finishing details, I made the chocolate look extra melty with some Glossy Accents and added a bit of sparkle with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear jewels!
I hope you all enjoyed my first post! I loved sharing it with you! See you next Friday!
