Hi crafty friends!
Heather here and I am super excited to be joining the DT for the next few months!
Did you guys know that this week is TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK?!? I have three school age children and, believe me, I am all too aware haha!
I gotta tell ya, I always have such grand plans for Teacher Appreciation Week all year long... then life ALWAYS gets in the way when it comes down to it. Inevitably, I spend the entire weekend prior to it frazzled and covered in heaps of patterned paper as I toil away! This year was no exception. It’s always worth it - I think Teachers have one of the MOST important jobs in our world and I’m so happy to remind them that we see and love them!!
Anyway, onto my project.
I’ve created lil goodie bags for all of the teachers this year (I had to make 23!) filled with a variety of yummy chocolate goodies!
{I usually feel that chocolate is the answer to MOST things in life}
To decorate my goodie bags I die cut a piece of this fabulous Lawn Fawn rainbow patterned paper using the smaller of their Stitched Party Banners die . I then used a circle die to cut a page out of an old book that was in shambles (PSST... these circle dies are on sale in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop right now!!). I inked the die cut circle up with a bit of Wilted Violet Distress Oxides for a bit of pretty. Then I used the Lawn Fawn I Scream, You Scream Lawn Cuts to cut the fun ice cream images (with cute faces!) out of Bristol paper. I inked the ice cream with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and the cone with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and put a tiny scrap of black paper behind the eyes/mouth to make them pop ;). I added rosy cheeks to the ice cream cone with the Worn Lipstick using Lawn Fawn’s Year Nine Stamp Set . Finally, I die cut an Avery Elle Banner and stamped it with “You’re Awesome”!
Once that was all done, I stuffed those little paper bags with delicious chocolates, attached everything to my bag, and finished it off with a little bit of bakers twine! They came together very quickly and I think they’re totally cute! My kids all loved them - and I hope the teachers do as well! What are you doing for teacher Appreciation Week?!? I’d love to know!! Have an awesome day everyone!
Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer. I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks . I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things...
