Hello everyone! It's Ashley with a super fun interactive card for Father's Day! This card features the Fishin' Hole set from Hello Bluebird and is perfect for those fishermen in your life! I created a cute lake scene for my father-in-law, but with a hidden surprise!
When you pull the tab, a fish jumps out from behind the big group of cattails!
I stamped the images from Hello Bluebird Fishin' Hole with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with my Copics before cutting them out with the matching dies. I then went to work creating the background scene. I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink on the top third of my white cardstock and Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch on the bottom two-thirds. I cut the bushes out of two colors of green cardstock using the Hello Bluebird Pond Builder dies and created the edge of the lake with the Lawn Fawn Hillside Borders. I used Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn to add some interest to the bushes. I adhered the fish, then covered the water with a piece of vellum to make the fish look like they were under the surface. I die cut the whole panel with the largest of the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables.
To make the jumping fish, I used the Lawn Fawn Let's Toast Add On. I just trimmed the piece the toast would go on to fit the fish. I stamped the pull tab piece with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Push Here. I adhered the fisherman to the card and cut a small slit in the vellum for the hook to go through so it also looked underwater. I used the cattail dies in the Hello Bluebird Pond Builder set to make bunches of cattails and popped a few up with foam tape.
I mounted the card on a piece of woodgrain paper from the Lawn Fawn Knock on Wood pad. I stamped the sentiment on a matching strip of paper with Versamark and embossed with white powder. I adhered the largest bunch of cattails to the back of this strip and used a double layer of foam tape to pop it up and give plenty of room for the fish to move behind it.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
