Hello crafty friends! I'm back with a fun Halloween scene! Trick or Treating was always one of my favorite things growing up. I loved getting to dress up and be silly. I loved being outside in the cool night air. But every kids favorite part of Halloween HAS to be the free candy! Am I right? As much as I loved the candy, I was a shy kid and would get nervous to even knock on doors. Now that I'm grown and it's unacceptable for me to go out and ask strangers for candy, my favorite things about Halloween are a little different. Instead, I love getting to see all the kids in their costumes and see myself in the shy ones who don't seem to want to knock on the door.
To start this card, I stamped my costumed kids in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink from Lawn Fawns set Costume Party. (This is my first time using it since I got it from the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop) I also stamped the little flower girl from LF set Easter Party. I colored my images with alcohol markers and cut them out. I wanted to fit as many children on this card as possible so I went with a slimline. When creating my background, I started by blending ink from the darkest shade to the lightest shade with my Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Brushes. The colors I used were Distress Oxide Dusty Concord, Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves, and Distress Ink Shaded Lilac. On my inked cardstock, I stamped some bats in the sky from LF set Happy Haunting. Next I cut out the Spooky Fence Border from Lawn Fawn on a black piece of cardstock. To make the fence long enough, I cut it out twice continuing on the same line. I adhered the fence to my inked background. I mounted that on to a green piece of cardstock and again to a piece of patterned candy paper. Afterwards, I attached it all to my cardface. When I glued my colored images to the scene, I made sure to cover the fence area that wasn't seamless. Lastly, I added my sentiment Happy Haunting to some black paper and adhered that to my scene! For my adhesives, I used a LF glue tube, and a tape runner.
I hope you all enjoyed this card as much as I did making it! I'll be back next week with something new, but in the meantime check out @CaveWomanCreations to see my other works! I hope you all have a wonderful week!
