Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be here for my first post as a member of the Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team. When I started posting pictures of my cards to Instagram, I never could have imagined the positivity I'd be embraced by in this community, and it makes me so happy to continue sharing my creations in as many different ways as possible!
My card today is a birthday card I made for my brother-in-law, who loves Hawaii. I blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink onto some cardstock, and used the Newton's Nook Cloudy Sky stencil along with some embossing paste and a palette knife to create the cloudy sky.
For the sand, I blended more Distress Oxide Ink in Scattered Straw and Antique Linen, and then I used some Copic markers in shades of brown to add some dotted accents - I wanted it to look like a beach!
After building the background elements, I could add all the fun critters and images onto the card to finish off the scene. I used Lawn Fawn's Hammock and Trees die set to cut out the palm trees, and then a bunch of different Lawn Fawn stamps sets including On the Beach, Aloha, Butterfly Kisses, and Bannertastic. I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy-cut most of them with my scissors before adhering them to the card.
Thanks so much for checking out this post, and I hope you're having a wonderful day. Looking forward to seeing you back here on the blog soon!
