Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to be back and sharing with you some inspiration for the BRI January 2020 Mood Board! Make sure to tag your projects using #BRImoodboard on Instagram and on the Facebook group for a chance to win $20 gift certificate to Butterfly Reflections Ink!
The colors for this month are soft pastels with added texture. My scene shows some girlfriends chatting and drinking coffee near a frozen river/lake. Friends and coffee do make everything better right?!! The card was inspired by the mood board image on the top left showing the frozen lake.
This card was created using products from Pretty Pink Posh and a snow marker for added dimension/texture.
Finally, I used the Lawn Fawn stitched frames die to cut a piece of white cardstock for the frame. The frame was adhered using foam tape. I added white accents to the water using a white gel pen. The entire panel was then adhered to an A2 card base and that completes the card!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Remember to play along with the mood board this month and tag #BRI mood board on Instagram for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate!

See product list below:
- Pretty Pink Posh Picket fence die

- Pretty Pink Posh Stacked edges 1
- Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle frames
- Snow marker
- Ink
- White gel pen
- Vellum
- Distress Oxide colors: dried marigold, milled lavender, spun sugar, tumbled glass
- Ink blending tool
- MFT cloud stencil
- Glue dots
- Foam tape
To start, I used an A2 size of Bristol smooth cardstock and ink blended the clouds using distress oxide colors: dried marigold, milled lavender, spun sugar with the MFT cloud stencil. The stencil was only used about half way down and I left the bottom half white. Tumbled glass distress ink added to the bottom half of the panel to suggest water. Then, I die cut pieces from stacked edges die and the picket fence die. These pieces were ink blended at the top edge and bottom edge to add shadows. The two pieces from the stacked edges were glued to the card front. I left the other two pieces (the negative cut and the picket fence) separate. An A2 size piece of vellum was adhered to the card front using liquid glue along the edges. Then I adhered the two remaining die cuts to the card front using liquid glue.
Using a snow marker, I added small accents to the fence and water to suggest fallen, melting snow. The snow pen "puffs" when a heat gun is applied to wet area. I love the look of the 3D puffy snow!
I used a mini Misti tool to stamp the sentiment from the encouraging greetings stamp set using stazon ink. I find that stazon black ink is perfect for stamping on vellum, acetate and other slick surfaces and doesn't smudge when dry.
Images from the Christmas friends stamp set were stamped using black Copic-friendly ink. I colored the images with copics and cut them using the coordinating dies. White gel pen added to the images for accents. The images were adhered to the card front using glue dots.I used a mini Misti tool to stamp the sentiment from the encouraging greetings stamp set using stazon ink.
