Hello cardmakers!
I am craving spring like you wouldn't believe! I don't do well with short days, snow and being shut up in my house. I need to be outside, feel the sunshine and fresh air and have my kids get out to play! This card clearly speaks my longing for springtime! The newest lawn fawn release is SO wonderful, I just can't get enough of it. This set, Swan Soiree, was the one set I knew I couldn't live without. It's so beautiful and sweet!
Here are the stamps and dies used from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink Store:
- Lawn Fawn Swan Soiree Stamp and Die Set
- Lawn Fawn Scene Builder Stencils: Bayou
- Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil
- Lawn Fawn Stitched Simple Wavy Borders Dies
- Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy Stamp and Die Set
- Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn
- Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
- Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive
- Copic Sketch Markers
- 3D Foam Squares-White
I started by stamping all of the images from the Swan Soiree stamp set onto my white cardstock, then coloring them with my Copic Markers. I knew I wanted soft and sweet colors with these beautiful swans! I tried a trick from a card by Davina Cantrell, where I colored the top of the swans with soft pinks and the bottoms with soft blues. Like they were reflecting the colors of the sky and water. I just love the way it turned out!
Next, created my background piece by using the new Cloudy Stencil to create some soft pink clouds with my Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink. Then, I added the vines with the Bayou stencil and my Mowed Lawn ink. Finally, I cut a few strips of wavy water with my Stitched Simple Wavy Borders Dies and inked them with Peacock Feathers. Then, for my sentiment, I stamped "happy" from the Happy, Happy, Happy stamp set, also with Peacock Feathers and I used the "anniversary" saying from that same set, but I only inked it from the second "N" on. Then, I stamped the word "swan" from the Swan Soiree set. I think it worked out cute, but my kids just seemed confused by it, so who knows!
Have a wonderful day!
Saedi
