Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog to share another card with you! Today I reached back for the Lawn Fawn Little Fireflies stamp set, but tried to incorporate a Reveal Wheel mechanism into the card. Here's what I came up with!
First, I created the background by blending Distress Oxide ink in Black Soot onto a piece of cardstock, and then splattering it with water and yellow watercolour paint. I then cut it down with the basic Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die - that's the piece you can see behind the word "glows".
I also cut a piece of black glitter cardstock with the basic Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die, and trimmed the top edge down using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border die. Finally, I splattered some basic black cardstock with shimmer, and cut those pieces the same way - first, with the basic Reveal Wheel die, and then with the Puffy Cloud Border die. I assembled all the pieces together using glue and foam.

For the "wheel" part of the Reveal Wheel, I used acetate so that it would appear invisible - this way, it would look like the fireflies were flying through the night sky!
I stamped out numerous fireflies as well as their little shining lights from the Lawn Fawn Little Fireflies stamp set. I used Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink for the flies, and yellow ink for the dots of light. I coloured all the flies in with Copic markers, cut them out and assembled them on the card so they looked like they were scattered through the sky. I also adhered a bunch to the wheel of the Reveal Wheel, so when the wheel is turned it looks like the flies are flying!
For the sentiment, I heat embossed the first and last parts with white embossing powder onto black cardstock and trimmed them down into strips. I cut out the word "glows" using the My Favorite Things Stitched Alphabet dies from Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Scallops patterned paper. I adhered them down onto the front of the card using glue.
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out this card today! All of the products used to make this card can be purchased at the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop.
