Happy Sunday! I'm sharing this fun watercolor card using inspiration from the April mood board. I pulled out my die sets and decided to make a card using only dies and watercolor! Thick white acrylic paint and fun sprinkles add a bit of realism to this card. Scroll down for a list of supplies and see how I created this card.
Supplies used:
Scripty words: sweet
Fancy scalloped rectangle stackables
Water colors - I used white nights water colors
Thick white acrylic paint
To start, I used a piece of water color paper and mixed purples, pinks, yellows and orange shades to create a background. After the panel was dry, white acrylic paint was mixed with water and splatted on the bottom half of the painted panel. Then the background was left to dry.
Images of the ice cream were cut from watercolor paper using the I scream, you scream die by Lawn Fawn. The ice cream tops were watercolored and left to dry. After the images were dry, I applied thick white acrylic paint to the tops of the ice cream and added sprinkles. These were then left to dry overnight. The acrylic paint takes a long time to dry when applying it this way, so make sure you give it plenty of time to dry.
The ice cream cones were cut from chocolate bar card stock and black card stock was used to cut the faces. Pink card stock used to cut the cheeks from the stitched cloud fames die. All the pieces were adhered using liquid glue to create the cute ice cream cones! The top sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of black cardstock and white heat embossed. The bottom sentiment was cut from white glitter cardstock and adhered using small strips of foam tape. The panel was then trimmed and adhered to the background which was cut from white cardstock using the fancy scallop rectangle stackables die. And that finishes the card!
