Hello friends! It's Ashley today, and I am so happy to be back on the BRI blog for a guest post! I have been loving tropical cards lately and decided to make one for all of you! Since I can't travel to the beach, I might as well bring a little of the beach to my crafting! I grabbed some of my favorite Pretty Pink Posh summer stamps to make this (almost) one layer card!
I started this card by stamping my images from Pretty Pink Posh Tropical Birds and Tropical Toucans onto white cardstock, masking as I went. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I wanted to color with Copics later. Once all my images were stamped and masked, I was ready for ink blending!
I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide for the sand and Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, and Squeezed Lemonade for the sky. I splattered the background with acrylic paint in gold and white, then heat set it. I removed the masks and colored my images with Copic markers. I added some highlights with white gel pen and went over the flamingo legs with a black fineliner since they were covered in ink.
I die cut my card with a wonky stitched rectangle and added it to a black card base. I stamped the "aloha" from Tropical Birds in VersaMark ink and embossed with gold. Don't forget your anti-static pouch! I stamped the second part of the sentiment in VersaMark and embossed with white onto black cardstock before adding it to the card with a bit of foam tape. I finished with a few sparkly Pretty Pink Posh jewels in Buttercream.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
Fantastic tropical scene.
