Hi BRI fans!
It’s Erica guesting on the blog today, and I have a CAS but colourful card to share with you all.
I have used the Hero Arts & Ink Blot Shop collaboration stamp set, Please Deliver, because it’s freaking adorable! I did misjudge the placement a little bit but oh well. It is a handmade card after all, not a Hallmark printed one, right?
First off, I stamped up the pencils along the bottom of a 5.5”x4.25” piece of Neenah #110 card stock, with Copic friendly ink. I used Picket Fence Studios Black Hybrid ink, but you can use whatever Copic safe ink you have. My Mini MISTI made sure I got a good solid image too. Then I flipped it over, and stamped it on the other side too.
Using SO MANY Copics, I coloured in the pencils in a rainbow order. Below you can see the notes I made as I went along. It’s not overly tidy but it was more for a reference point than something to keep. I did mark the fifth pencil’s colour down upside down, it’s supposed to be R59, R46 and R29.
In the middle of all that white space I stamped up a sentiment from another Hero Arts collaboration stamp set, this one is with Honey Bee Stamps and called You Are Amazing. It’s stamped with black ink, then stamped again with an Embossing Pad and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to make it pop a little.
While I had the clear embossing powder out, I thought I’d try out my brand new Embossing Pen too! As it has a fine nib, I was able to add embossing ink to all the tops of the pencils and heat embossed these too. It doesn’t show up overly well in the photos but it is a nice little touch and makes the card even more tactile.
Of course I also had to add some sequins, because I am still obsessed with them and I don’t think that will ever go away. The ones I used are Studio Katia Crystal Clear Fusion but you can use any clear sequins or iridescent embellishments you have. Iridescent Crystals would look so cool! Or even colourful ones, like the Crystal Rainbow Confetti, if you prefer.
With all this done, I only had to add it to a card base and voila! All done!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this card and found some inspiration here with me. Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
