Happy Saturday, Friends!! I hope everyone is having a great summer wherever you may be! Summer here (in Canada) is starting to fade. The days are shorter and I've even seen some leaves starting to turn. While I love fall time, it's always a reminder of the winter to come and being in Canada, winters can be harsh and not a lot of fun. So, to keep the summer vibe going just a little longer, I've made a bright and sparkly birthday card with a lemon theme!
I used the Main Squeeze Stamp Set along with the co-ordinating dies from MFT. I'm not sure what it is about lemons, but they just make me happy! I stamped almost all of the images with Versamark Ink and used white embossing powder. I should also mention I used watercolour paper!
I decided to use my Tombow markers for the colouring. After all the images were coloured and die cut, I set them aside to work on the rest of the card. I covered the front of a white card base with grey patterned paper from the Woodgrain Whimsy paper pad (also MFT). And the hardest part of this entire card was coming up with some sort of layout for all those lemons!
I decided to cut the largest rectangle from the Stitched Mini Scalloped Rectangles Stax, ink around the edges with a grey ink and arrange most of the lemons on the lower right side.
I used a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. After everything was arranged on the scalloped panel, I foam mounted it to the card base.
The sentiment comes from the Essential Sentiments set which is a staple in my craft room! I stamped the "hello, beautiful" in grey ink and trimmed around it to make a tiny strip. I also stamped "happy birthday" and did the same thing. I adhered this to the inside of the card along with a lemon wedge that was left over!
As a final touch, I used a glue pen and some clear glitter to add some sparkle to the lemons and leaves. My desk is now covered in glitter, hahaha!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I wish you all and amazing weekend!
Laurie
