Hello friends! Davina here with a quick blog post and sharing my last project of the month using the November BRI Moodboard. As we are so quickly speeding through the end of this crazy year I feel like I haven’t had as much time for Cardmaking and coloring as I normally would like. But I am so happy with how this winter card turned out using the cozy fall colors of the current color board.
I often feel like knowing what colors I need to use takes away a lot of the mental struggle of choosing a theme for me. It helps me focus and not get so easily distracted trying to make decisions. I wanted to use the super fun Happy Little Tree Farm die set from Trinity Stamps. It comes with tons of tree pieces to make a whole forest of wonky trees. There are so many ways to layer them and switch the pieces about. I cut all the dies from two pieces of scrap cardstock, in mint and moss green. Then I used Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks to inkblend onto the edges, to create my teal colored trees.Next, I dug out several Avery Elle Peek A Boo Stamp sets for my images. I stamped the Peek A Boo Car, and gift, several presents and the tree from Peek A Boo Christmas Train, and the fox and accessories from Peek A Boo Polar Pals . I stamped the little deer too, and used just the antlers for the top of the car. To look like reindeer cars people make. After coloring everything in Moodboard inspired colors, I cut the images out using the coordinating dies.
I assembled all of the trees, and piled the gifts and reindeer parts onto my car. I used glittery cardstock for my snowy hillside and created the slimline panels using Trinity Stamps Scallop panels, and stitched card panels. I inked a soft yellow sky then added my snowy hillside and trees. I adhered the car to the bottom and decided I needed a hint of purple up high so I stamped and die cut the “falala” using lawn Fawns older Winter Big Scripty Words. Then I finished this off with a quite a few Snowflake Lace clay sequins from Trinity Stamps.
These unconventional colors really look cute on this Tree Farm, and I hope you try to squeeze in a last fall colored project. You can link your projects using this months color inspiration to my blog or use the hashtag #brimoodboard for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the shop!
