Happy Friday and a very Merry Christmas to all! I hope everyone is able to take some time and enjoy the holiday in whatever way makes you happy. I am very happy to share these two slimline cards with you today that feature the beautiful Radiant Ornament Layer Set from Birch Press Design, as well as some other goodies.
I started by making the ornaments, which is just simply die-cutting and glueing the layers together. I then tied some gold thread to the ornaments.I decided to hang the ornaments from some pine branches. For this, I used the Holly and Pine die set from Hello Bluebird. For one card, I cut the pine branches out of a spearmint colored card stock and then colored some with Pine Needles Distress Oxide to give some color variation. For the other card, I cut the branches out of different colors of gold metallic paper and some kraft card stock. I cut one bow out of the same watermelon card stock that I used for the ornaments, and one out of the spearmint card stock. For the card bases, I used the amazing new Slim Stitches Die from Pinkfresh Studio. This die gives so much texture to the background of cards. The cards were easy to assemble, although I'm not going to tell you how much glue I used to arrange all of those pine branches, gold thread and bows! I used foam tape to pop up the ornaments. The Joy word die was a last minute addition to each card. This die is also from Birch Press Design. I love all of their word dies - you can find many of them in the Butterfly Reflections Ink online shop.
And that's it for my cards today. Thank you so much for joining me on the blog and Happy Holidays to you all.
Allison
