Hi BRI friends, Sara here!
I am so happy to join this blog for a mood board inspiration. When I have to choose a color palette I always struggle, I think color choices are really important to create a balanced card. Well, last year I discovered the BRI Mood Boards and I just have to tell you that all of them were absolutely gorgeous. They inspired me to create many cards, they helped me to “open” my mind and learn new color schemes. So I am really really happy to be here, I hope you will join our challenge and I am sure you will love what you will do.
This color palette is beautiful, it is wintery but with some fresh tones that made me think to an early spring…and since next month there will be Valentine’s day, I couldn’t resist to create a love card.
I started ink blending the background with regular distress in Chipped Sapphire over a watercolor paper. I tried to have a heavy hand at the bottom and a lighter hand at the top. I also used Black Soot and a white acrylic paint to splatter the background, in order to get some texture on it. I white heat embossed the greenery at the bottom.
I stamped and colored the two foxes with some pale rose tones, cause the orange wasn’t in the palette. I used copics E17-E04-RV52-RV00 and I love the result! I paired them up with the newest “Sending you hugs” MFT die, it is the perfect size: not to big and not to small. The “HUGS” word was heat embossed with bronze powder but I layered the letters with a white die cut too, to achieve dimension and depth.
I also added some “Love speech bubbles” and hearts (from a MFT die) in white and icy mint to complete the scene.
To finish my project I matted the whole card with a piece of Lawn Fawn “ballet slippers” cardstock.
I also added some “Love speech bubbles” and hearts (from a MFT die) in white and icy mint to complete the scene.
I really hope you will love it,
Hugs from Italy!
