Hello my inky fingered friends! Davina here with some Bri Moodboard inspiration. I created a really fun slimline card using some brand new Avery Elle stamps and dies, along with some older sets, and a Heffy Doodle word die.
I was so excited for the latest Avery Elle release and I can’t wait to use all of the goodies I purchased from Butterfly Reflection Ink. On this card I used only two stamp and die sets, the Peek-a-boo Flight and an older Peek-a-boo set called Peek-a-boo Jungle. I stamped the airplane, banner, and clouds from the Flight set. And the adorable zebra and banner from the jungle set. I colored my images with copic markers in February BRIMoodboard colors and cut out the images using the coordinating dies. I added small white dot highlights then got to work on my background.
I found some black and white small plaid paper in my enormous paper stash, so I thought it would be cute to combine it with an inky panel using the new and amazing Distress Oxide color called Kitsch Flamingo. If you like to use pink it is definitely a must have perfect shade of pink. I cut my slimline layers using Lawn Fawn Stitched Slimline dies then blended my lovely new flamingo pink ink onto some Bristol smooth cardstock. I inked heavier around the edges leaving a softer lighter area in the center. Then I splattered with water, glittery perfect pearls, and pink, white, & silver inks.
I used a cursive shadow word die from a Heffy Doodle that says “miss you” and cut the shadow layer from bright white cardstock, and the actual words from silver sparkle cardstock. I mounted this in the center of my panel. I used a piece of silver thread to connect my airplane and waving banner together, then glued it across the scene in the center. I surrounded it with little puffy clouds. These few larger images filled up most of my available space, so I don’t have to spend a ton of time coloring and creating lots of little scenic areas. It was very nice for a change, yay for me haha.
Finally, I adhered my image panel onto a black layer, then onto my patterned paper layer, it’s really nice to have that extra visual oomph when working with a limited color board, then onto my card base. I really love how this turned out and can’t wait to mail it out. Don’t forget you can still play along with us by using the colors of the current BRI Moodboard and the hashtag #brimoodboard. We will randomly select a winner to receive $20 to the shop! Hope to see your card 😊
Thank you so much for stopping by, Davina
