Hello my inky fingered friends! Davina here on the blog, sharing some fun February BRIMoodboard inspiration. The colors this month are cotton Candy, hot pink, jet black and steel gray. I’ve made a few projects already with these bold colors and it has been so exciting.
I pulled a pile of scrap papers from my bin (cause I’m crazy and always try to use my remnants first), and found some hot pink, glitter cardstock, and black& white stripes that I wanted to use. Then I flipped through some of my unused stamp sets. These llamas from Mama Elephants Little Llama Agenda have been calling my name. I didn’t know how I was going to use them but I knew I wanted gray snow capped mountains and some pink grass on a slimline card.
I used the beautifully detailed Scalloped slimline Pull Tab die from Heffy Doodle to cut a hot pink base. Then I used some Lawn Fawn Stitched Slimline dies to cut 3 panels from Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I cut one panel in half usingLawn Fawn Mountain Borders, and from a second panel, I cut slightly taller mountains. I also cut some glittery snow caps to mount on top. For the leftover bits of paper I cut a grassy hillside using the curved short grass from Lawn Fawn Mushroom Borders dies, this way all of my layers have the same great stitched detail.
Using the final uncut piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock, and the Cloud Stencil from Lawn Fawn, I inkblended some hot pink clouds using Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink, halfway down the panel. I inked my mountains with Weathered Wood and ,my grass with Spun Sugar (edged in Raspberry). I gave everything a little splatter with white, black and pink inks.
I stamped some of the adorable Llamas and copic colored them using just a few colors making sure to add pops of hot pink and cotton candy. After die cutting with the coordinating Little Llama Agenda Creative Cuts, I added little white dot highlights. I assembled my layers and popped my grass up on foam tape, then adhered my cute llamas. I cut Scripty “Love” 3 times and glued the, together to make a chipboard like embellishment, then stamped and heat embossed Sending Llama using words from various Lawn Fawn stamp sets. I finished this off with a few Valentine Pink Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
It was so much fun mixing up these different brand products, it’s not something I normally do, and I really adore how this turned out.
