Let's go nuts! It's your birthday!

Hi everyone, Peggy here with some birthday card inspiration. This time featuring the Let's go nuts stamp set from Lawn Fawn's fall release 2020. This is such a fun set and as always with Lawn Fawn you can combine it with other sets to get more use out of your stash. That is what I love most about Lawn Fawn. Let me show you how I made this card!

I think this turned out to be such a cute design and you could easily replace the squirrel with any other critter you have and switch up patterned papers and colors of twine. Also, I think this is a design that can be used for birthday cards for boys and men as well. I see others struggle with 'male birthday cards', whereas I never do. I just don't see why they wouldn't love a fun card like this!?

I stamped the yay squirrel from the set and some of the acorns in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with my copic markers. I cut patterned paper to fit my card base from the Knock on Wood Petite paper pad also from Lawn Fawn. I made a series of these cards, using a couple of different patterns from the paper pad. You can see two of them in the picture below.

I used the second to largest Outside in Stitched Rectangle to cut a couple of white cardstock panels. Some panels I made into the sky pieces using Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, a blending brush and the Cloudy stencil. Other panels I made into grassy hillside pieces by cutting them with the Simple Grassy Hillside dies. I used blending tools with Distress Ink Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn and splattered with some water and Mowed Lawn.

The confetti was done with a tiny peg stamp I have and some different distress ink colors, but you could easily substitute with dots of copic markers. I adhered my scene, popped up the panel from the patterned paper with some foam tape and added some contrasting color twine for interest.

To finish the card I embossed the sentiment with Versamark Ink and Wow White embossing powder on some Black Licorice cardstock.

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer. I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks . It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink! Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards. What do I mean, you wonder? Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color. For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks. You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color.
