I started by cutting my layers using Mama Elephant Slim Cut Basics. I cut the scalloped layer from a soft creamy cardstock, then gently inked some Antique linen on the edges to darken it up a bit. I had some pattern paper in my stash that I feel really captures the Moodboard colors, and uses many different values of the same few colors. I cut the stitched layer from the paper as well as two windows from the upper portion. I also but some Bristol smooth cardstock with the same die, for my sky inking. I ink blended several colors of Distress Oxides onto my white Bristol smooth paper, making sure to create a darker teal color towards the top, and blending down to a soft aqua. I also created a grassy piece for the lower area that I inked a darker teal to match the color board.
I stamped the cute koala images from the recently released Koala Hugs stamps from Mama Elephant. I colored them all a very light warm gray and added pops of color on the tree branches and accessories. I die cut the images and built my scene, then added my small dot highlights. I decided to add a word bubble and found this cute one from the Mama Elephant 3D pop up card dies, and stamped the sentiment into the bubbles. I built the “Mom” using the fun Kissie Letter Alphabet.
Once everything was put together, I addd some shiny Nuvo Jewel Drops in gray mist, for the noses, and let dry overnight. I really love the results of this simple slimline, that was pretty easy to put together. And the colors turned out so wonderful together.
