Hello! Last week I went to school pretty much every day of the week to set up my classroom. That’s why I felt like making this card, because I think we all know someone who’s getting ready to go back to school. I’ve got one week left and then the new year begins. But before that happens I’m going to talk you through how I made this card.
First I stamped the crayon from Color My World with Lawn Fawn Jelly Fish ink six times. I colored them using my Copic Sketch Markers. The colors are: RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21, V17, V15, V12, V01, B04, B02, B01, B00, YG09, YG07, YG05, YG03, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, YR18, YR16, YR15 and YR12.
I made two black stripes on each crayon with a Copic Multi Liner. I gave each crayon some white accents with a white gelly roll pen.
I die cut the letters ‘school’ with Oliver’s Stitched ABC’s from some copic friendly paper. I colored each letter with the same colors as the crayon I want to put next to them.
To give it a blackboard kind of look I used the rectangle from Small Slimline With Lift the Flaps on some black licorice cardstock. I prepped the cardstock with anti-static powder. Then I stamped the sentiments with clear embossing ink and sprinkled it with white embossing powder. I melted it with my heat tool. The sentiments are combined from two sets: Tree Before ‘n Afters and Plan on It: School.
I spaced out all of the letters and crayons, arranged them a little playful and glued the letters down first. Then I added the crayons with some large thin foam squares.
For the scalloped edge I used the Slimline With Hearts: Portrait dies on some white cardstock. It looked a little boring as just a white edge, so I colored it with Distress Oxide Inks, to match the crayons. I used: Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold. That really made the card pop! So all that was left to do was attach it to a card base and then the card was finished. As always I hope you like it! Have a fantastic week and for those of you going back to school: good luck and I hope you have an amazing year!
Hugs,
Leontine
This is DARLING!
