New Design Team Intro for September through December 2021

Hi, everyone. I hope you're all well. My kids went back to school last week and we took one final camping trip this past weekend for Labor Day. Bacon and mimosas made it next level and we had a fun pizza party in the rain. (Why does it ALWAYS rain?!) I don't miss the tenting days, I know that much. HA! I can't believe summer is just about over and that it's September! My favorite season is just about here and I can't wait to get my first Pumpkin Spice iced coffee. Yeah, I'm that basic. ;)

I have been seeing so many gorgeous fall creations on Instagram already and I can't wait to see more, especially from our new Design Team members which I'm here today to introduce you to!

Linda lives in the Netherlands is such a talented cardmaker. She's been on several Design Teams including Sugar Pea Designs, My Favorite Things and LDRS. I had reached out some time ago to ask her about joining the team, but she had other commitments. I was so glad she had time for me this term! hehe

Stephanie is from Texas, a mom to 2 boys and wife to her new husband. This is her first time being on a DT so WOOT WOOT! Her Wizard of Oz card won me over months ago and I was so glad to see her DT application come through. She's been crafting and scrapbooking on and off for 20 years and now also loves card making, which she says she's been doing a lot for relaxation and self-care through the pandemic. (I should've been doing the same. :P)

Kelly is a phlebotomist from Florida which is making it difficult for her to come work for me. bwahahahaha Her and I have a couple things in common as we both have 13 year olds and one of our kids have the same name. She has been on and guested for several Design Teams including Trinity Stamps, Whimsy Stamps, Honey Bee Stamps, Concord & 9th. Check out this BEAUTY she created using alcohol inks. *swoon*

Jennifer Li is a high school science teacher turned stay-at-home mom. When the pandemic hit, she noticed it was hard for parents to find activities for their kids so she hosted a virtual summer card making camp. How fun is that? This is also her first time being on a Design Team, but she had a card featured on the Lawn Fawnatics challenge blog a few months ago so that's exciting!

Laura is from Argentina, but lives in Spain. She loves to travel and getting to know new cities. Her vibrant blended background really stood out and I just loved some of her Mama Elephant cards (make sure you go look at the cute gnome house one!!!).

I hope each of them enjoys being on the team and bring you much inspiration, which I already know they will. You can check out all the incredible new goodies coming into the shop HERE! I've recently added Honey Bee Stamps (amazing release!), Waffle Flower Crafts (LOVE all the leaves!), Trinity Stamps, Hero Arts and MORE, including tons of new stencils and some new paper and scrapbooking lines for fall and Christmas! Next week, there are 3 more releases coming in from Pretty Pink Posh, Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn!

Hope to see you soon, either in-store or online! Sending virtual hugs to all of you for your continued support.

Stay well.

Vanessa

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my  We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool  for the first time and loved it! I cut my own  Tim Holtz watercolor paper  to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer.  I stamped my sentiments that are by  Lawn Fawn Hello Baby  with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral  Distress Inks  and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron  Distress Inks .  I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things...

Painting backwards....

Hello, hello!  Norine here from The Velvet Lemon blog .  It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink!   Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards.  What do I mean, you wonder?  Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color.     For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks.  You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color.   I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Inks for this project, but any wate...

Altenew’s 4th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway

Hey, hey BRI friends!  We're hopping today to celebrate the 4th Birthday of Altenew , one of our favorite stamping companies!  You should have arrived here from the Altenew blog , and we're glad you're here to share the excitement! There are prizes and inspiration and it's going to be FUN! With you today, is Norine from The Velvet Lemon  creating for Butterfly Reflections Ink  and I have some projects to share today, that I made using some recently released Altenew products .   First up, are these two cards created with the Mega Succulent stamp set .   I stamped the image onto water color paper using the MISTI , then turned on the music and sat and colored.   I used Faber Castell watercolor pencils so I could more easily control where the color would sit and then painted with a water brush .  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of vellum, heat embossed with clear embossing powder to ensure that the ink wouldn't smudge...
