I stamped images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink before coloring them and adding white gel pen highlights and LOTS of glitter pen accents. Using the largest die from the LF die set (retired) Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables, I cut out three panels on white cardstock. Each panel will create a different layer of the scene. The first panel will be ink with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to create a blue sky. The second panel will be cut using LF Die Stitched Hillside Borders to create a snowy bank. The third panel will be stamped using the foliage from Frosty Fairy Friends stamp set to create a border for the whole scene. Lastly, I cut out the second largest panel from the Scalloped Rectangle Stackables on white cardstock.
On the first panel inked with a blue sky, I added white gel pen and glitter pen dots to look like snow. I also added glitter pen accents on the top of the snowy hill panel. The foliage on the third panel was stamped in Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn. I used two shades of green brush tip markers to fill out the branches before adding white gel pen snow dots at random. I cut out the center of the panel around the branches with an Exacto knife and scissors to leave the hole where my background can peep through.
To assemble the card, I started by adhering the snowy hill to the blue sky base using an ATG. Then I adhered the background to the Scalloped Rectangle panel cut out from before. I glued the snow-covered treehouse to the scene using my LF glue tube. I also glued images to the frame before officially adhering it to the scene. Next, I added double-sided foam tape to the back of the frame. After peeling off the backing, I attached it to the snowy blue sky panel. The scene was matted again on black cardstock and attached to an A2 card blank. The sentiment was also stamped Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white cardstock. I fussy cut it out and added it to the scene using double-sided tape. For the VERY final touches, I added clear glossy accents to the windows of the treehouse and the wings of the fairies.
Thank you all for checking out my card today and for supporting the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop! This month's Mood Board is so much fun! I hope you'll join in on the challenge!
