Hello crafty friends! It's already the middle of December and Christmas is just 12 days away! Today I have a holiday card inspired by the December mood board featuring Paperie Ink stamps. This month's mood board is fabulous and the colors are right up my alley. I created this tri-fold scene card with two Paperie Ink sets, Build a Tree and Like Christmas.
I stamped and colored the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. For the background, I first ink blended a night sky with Distress oxides (tumbled glass, chipped sapphire, black soot). Next I used the Honey Bee Stamps Layering Birch Trees Stencils with Distress Oxides (weathered wood, picket fence) to add my forest.
I had a happy little accident with those trees-- I thought my first layer of ink was dry before adding the picket fence ink. I noticed the white was not showing up so I added white embossing powder. Guess what wasn't dry yet... yup, my first layer of trees. Powder everywhere. I started to brush off the powder with a paintbrush and decided to make tree bark pattern-y lines and then heated the powder. I ended up liking the result because I had white birch trees with gray patterns on the trunks so I just went with it! The final touch for my background was using a snow marker to add puffy falling snow.
To assemble the card, I cut out snow drifts with landscape dies and frames out of white and silver glitter cardstock. I made a hinge out of cardstock for the front panel and glued it between my frames. I glued on the images and stamped the inside sentiment using Mama Elephant's Inside Holiday Messages.
