Hello Sweet Girl

Hello everyone, Coralynn here and I'm so glad to be back again on the BRI blog today with you all.  I have a friend that is having a baby girl soon and her colours are pink and grey so this is the card I created. I started out with the Lawn Fawn of course and the Winter Alpaca stamp set. I stamped the Alpaca and the little heart in grey ink to create the background.  I then took my copics and did a bit of no line colouring to just the scarf. I coloured another Alpaca with warm grey copics and the same colours for the scarf as the background and added some shimmer.  Everyone needs a little shimmer in there life.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Hello Baby set with Versamark ink and heat embossed with with Hero Arts white embossing powder on to black card stock.  I then glued it to the card base and popped up the Alpaca die cut with foam tape. I added a bit of shimmer to the little hearts too and called this card done.  Be sure to stop b...

Thinking out of the box: using a holiday stamp set for a thank you card

Hello crafty peeps!  It's Jung here, and I'm back as a guest designer to share a card with you. I'll be using Pretty Pink Posh angel friends stamp set.  I must admit that I bought this stamp set in early December with every intention of making holiday cards for my happy mail friends, but life got in the way, and I didn't make a single Christmas card this past year.  Ha!  Sigh.  I was determined to use this stamp set though, so I had to think a little bit out of the box.  I decided to make a thank you card, and hand write my own sentiment in the banner, since all the sentiments included were holiday themed. Here's what I came up with: I love how it came out!  The angel images are so cute, I just had to put them on a card.  I love being able to use holiday themed products on non-holiday projects.  This works...right? Here's how I made my card: I stamped and copic colored 2 angels and the banner from the PPP angel friends...

Grand Adventures...

Hello friends!   Norine back again with a couple of quick cards to share with you today! So my oldest son is beginning an adventure where he's chucking it all and taking to the road for an indefinite period of time.  Just him and his dog, in a van.  Till the money runs out?  Exactly the thing any mother of fully grown children delights to hear, amiright?  But I'm being supportive.  I even made him a card!   I stamped the topography background stamp from Neat & Tangled onto watercolor paper, and painted  with a mix of blues and greens from the Gansai Tambi watercolor paint palette .  As it dried, the colors would lighten so I added a few layers of paint. I found some tags in my stash and cut them down to fit the stamped sentiments, also from the Topography set.  I stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink and then tied the tags with some jewelry making twine.  I finished it up with an assortment of sequins like ...

Partial Die Cutting Technique With Birthday Balloons

Hi Crafty Friends! Ali here with a fun card using the partial die-cutting technique to give it some "wow". The sets I have used today are from Sunny Studio - Bold Balloons and Birthday Balloons . If you are looking for a super versatile birthday set - look no further! These balloons can be used for all ages, male or female and you can vary the colour to your hearts content to suit the recipient!! I was reminded of this fun partial die-cutting technique by the amazing Jennifer McGuire, who did a recent video explaining it - so I encourage you to have a look at it if you are wanting further details.  The first thing I did was to draw a pencil line across a piece of white card. Then I layed down the dies where I wanted them (keep in mind the parts above the die will be the bits "sticking" up from the top of the card). I then placed my top cutting plate so that the pencil line was about mid-way through that tapered edge that my cutting plate has. Then I ...

Birthday Card using Masking Technique

Hello, BRI friends! It's Dana here coming back with another card for Wednesday. Today, I played along with Neat and Tangled Puppy's Favorite Things stamp set again. I created 9 different doggies from one stamp image this time. I started by stamping dog image from Neat and Tangled Puppy's Favorite Things stamp set onto card stock with Altenew Permanent Black. I stamped same image on 4 post-it notes and fussy cut them out using scissors. I used them as a mask and created today's scene like below. I stamped images after erasing the part of original stamped lines on clear stamp using baby wipe when I needed. After I got a group of doggies, I drew variety shapes on the empty part with Copic Multiliner. I then colored the images using Copic markers and added details with Prisma colored pencils. I cut dog border, top part of group image, using scissors and ink blended the background onto leftover piece. I used Peacock Feather and Mermaid Lagoon Distress...

Friends Forever

Happy Tuesday! Alix here introducing a friendship card. In my life, I had different friends in different period of life time. To be honestly, I will not be me without having them. I've been through a few tough time since I moved to United States. My friends were always being there for me when I needed help. I was trying best to be there for them as well. I just received this stamp set from Butterfly Reflections Ink and I could not wait a minute to play with it. This stamp set contains lots of elements for scene building which means you could mix and match as needed for all occasions. To start making this card, I stamped all images with Memento ink in Rich Coco and colored with Copic markers. One thing I want to mention is that I used Uni-ball Signo White gel pen to add interest on hedgehog, it turned out pretty good. I ink blended the background by using Tim Holtz distress oxide ink in Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean . I splattered water mixture of these two colors ont...

For my (every single day) Valentine

Hi guys! Erica on the blog today with a little Valentine’s Day card for my sweet hubby. Yes, just one card today if you can believe it...! The funny thing is that we don’t really do anything special for Valentine’s Day here, we are the soppy type that do sweet things for each other all the time rather than wait for that one day of the year to make a grand declaration. However, making lovey-dovey cards is one of my favorite things to do. I absolutely adore the bear from Neat & Tangled’s Beary Merry stamp set and I’ve used him for today’s card. As I planned on using Copics, I stamped him up in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Classic Crest 110# card stock and grabbed my grey markers. I ended up using the cool greys for the big body parts of the bear and warm greys for the tummy, feet and his little muzzle. I also added some pink for rosy cheeks. On the scarf I drew a hearts and dots pattern in a rich red. There is a very quick progress video on my Instagram feed if you want t...
