Have a Sparkly Day!!

Hi crafty peeps! Heather here with you today sharing a fun Magical Rain Shaker Card that I created! I learned how to make these types of cards HERE ( Laura , and they really are tons of fun! The first one you make will be a challenge - but after that you'll be a pro! FYI there is a new awesome die set called Falling From the Clouds by My Favorite Things that can really make creating a card like this so much easier - the best part - Vanessa has it stocked in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink. Shop!! For my card I used a ton of Lawn Fawn products! I started by coloring and diecutting the adorable Fairy Friends stamp set, plus the adorable little teeny fairies from the A Little Sparkle stamp set! Next I pulled out my Distress Inks and inked a few pieces of Bristol Paper. The top of the scene was created using with Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough and the bottom panel (the sky) was created using Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, and Dusty Concord - finished that off with...

Big Bug Hugs with Heffy Doodle

Hey there crafty friends, Davina here for the Butterfly Reflections Ink  blog today, sharing some summer colored hugs. Did you see the beautiful Mood/Color board last week that was posted on the blog?! It was gorgeous and I will have to make a million projects with these colors. So today I am sharing a slimline card that is inspired by the July mood board, and using my first purchase of  Heffy Doodle Stamps . I’ve been trying very hard to limit my purchasing to certain brands. But I am not being held accountable to anyone but myself, so my plans got off track. And I’m not sorry. I used an adorable set called  Big Bug Hugs  and their matching dies, and the large mushroom stamp and die from  Gnome Matter What , to create this card. Both sets are currently available in the BRI online store so if you like it please go check it out, I created links for you. I cut two panels of Bristol smooth cardstock down to 3x6 inches. I used a grassy hill die to cut one ...

Rainbow Happy Birthday Cards with Erica and Studio Katia goodies!

Hi guys! Erica here! Today I have the pleasure of being a guest designer here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! I have two bright and happy birthday cards using the It's Your Birthday stamp from Studio Katia . Both are heat embossed, the backgrounds are faux water coloured and both are sprinkled with Studio Katia sequins. To start with I cut out two panels of water colour card stock , and on these I dragged mini Distress Ink cubes in thick lines. With a wet wide paint brush , I blended the colours together to create the faux water colour look. You can get a similar look with any kind of water based mini ink cubes . It doesn't have to be Distress Inks. These I set aside to dry. They had to be absolutely bone-dry before I could carry on with the next step: Heat embossing. Even with an anti-static tool , I find that the powder gets stuck in places you don't want it in, if the panel isn't dry enough. The sentiment, Happy Birthday To You , was heat emb...

One-Layer Stamping - Rose Builder Set

Hey there, my stamping friends! It's Kelly Martin here! Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend and getting lots of opportunities for crafting! Today, I'm sharing 2 different cards that were really simple to put together. Sometimes, I just really enjoy getting back to the one-layer cards and simple stamping. I can easily mass produce these and I also get to use a bunch of different color inks, which is one of my favorite things! The process behind these cards was extremely simple. I used the WPlus9 Rose Builder  stamp set and my Catherine Pooler inks and just stamped away! Although this is a layering set, the images are EXTREMELY easy to line up--just line up the centers, as the center "swirl" is in the same place on every single individual layer stamp! Here are some tips for doing one layer floral stamping like this: 1. Incorporate multiple shades of green for your leaves. This will add some visual interest and cause your eye to travel all over...

Mama Elephant's Little Mermaiden Agenda

Hey friends! Britney here with a mermaid lover’s birthday card featuring  Mama Elephant’s Little Mermaiden Agenda Stamps and Dies . I mentioned in another blog post I have been using a lot of  Mama Elephant’s newer items   recently. I had so much fun making this card and I have fallen in love with  Avery Elle’s Clear Shimmer Spray . I cut two panels of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with the  Scales Cover Die . Bristol paper makes ink blending a whole panel like this possible for me. I inked up my backgrounds using Distress Oxide Inks ( Mermaid Lagoon  (naturally),  Blueprint Sketch ,  Wilted Violet ). I spritzed my background with water and then sprayed it with Shimmer Spray. After everything was dry, I used the  Circular Grid Die  on one of my panels. I laid my circular grid over my other panel and laid out my sentiments from the  Mini Everyday Messages Stamp Set . I used some  clear ink  and embossed my sentiments in whi...

Hello Summer!

Hello everyone! It's Ashley with a variation on the magical rain shaker card - a falling rainbow! I started by creating my cloud background with the My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Edges stencil and Lawn Fawn Mermaid Ink . I die cut another piece of white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Squares and an A2 stitched rectangle so I could see where my window would be. I also embossed the sentiment from Sunny Studio Stamps Fabulous Flamingos with Versafine Onyx Black and clear powder . I framed the window with foam tape and created the falling rainbow by stringing multiple colors of beads diagonally across the background. It helps to use double sided tape to hold the string in place on the foam! Once all the beads were on, I added a second layer of foam tape to sandwich the strings in place and give plenty of space for the beads to move. Tip: if the beads are sticking, add a bit of anti-static powder to the sides of the foam tape - no more sticking...

Happy Birthday Tea Party

Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends! Julianne here sharing a tea party inspired birthday card for a dear friend of mine. For this card I used a bunch of Honey Bee Stamps products and I'm super excited to share it with you.    My friend's sister is turning 16 today and I wanted to create her something that she would love and I drew the inspiration from a tea party that we decorated recently and thought it would be perfect for the theme of the card. Below is a picture of what the tea party ended up looking like: After watching a video by Kelly Latevola I really wanted to try making a one layer card scene. She makes such beautiful scenes and I really wanted to give it a go and try something different. I stated out by stamping out all the images in both the Honey Bee Piece of Cake and Winter Anemone stamp set onto some masking paper.  Once I had everything stamped I cut the images out and arranged them on my card base how I wanted them to be; this not only helped m...
